My name is Jo and I live in Wiltshire with my partner Carl and of course our band of merry cats. Many years ago we rescued a beautiful tabby cat called "Dave" from Claverton Down in Bath, but sadly he came to us very ill and after only three months of trying to get him better at the vets, we had to have Dave put to sleep. I couldn't bear not having a cat in the house so a few days later I went back to Claverton and rescued two cats this time. Carl and I still have the duo today- eight years on. "Tilly & Giles" as we named them are our two chilled out moggies!!!
I have had a passion for coonies since I can remember, and after years of nagging Carl, he finally relented and let me have my own way! The beauty of it was that I had secretly seen the breeder I wanted to get my Maine Coon from and the brilliant part was that she only lived down the road from me! So what Carl thought might be a longer process seemed to happen quite quickly :)
We bought Sheerclass Moonshine Missy aka "Bear" and unknown to us we would want to start breeding from her. Initially she was purchased as a show cat and has had a very successful career to date, becoming a Champion at 13 months old :)
We then were very lucky to be offered another Sheerclass coonie. This time we were rehoming Sheerclass Muscarkeisha as sadly she had had to be neutered and therefore couldn't be used for breeding. Our good friend Sue asked if we would like her as a show neuter to take out . How could we resist, and as they say the rest is history!!!
We are hoping to add to the family this year and plan to hear the patter of tiny feet very soon :)
To allow enough space for all the new additions I have been making a few radical changes to the home- such as a new conservatory (well it's as good an excuse as any!) and new cat pens and runs.
Work begins !!!
